Overview
Postage is typically the largest component of direct mail costs, representing roughly 40-50% of the total campaign price. Understanding how postage works helps you budget effectively and choose the right mailing strategy for your goals.
Two Main Canada Post Services
We use two primary Canada Post services for direct mail delivery, each suited to different campaign strategies:
Addressed Admail
Addressed Admail is used when you have a specific mailing list with named recipients. Key characteristics:
- Delivered to specific addresses with recipient names
- Rates depend on weight, size, and volume
- Higher perceived value (recipients see their name)
- Typically higher response rates than unaddressed mail
- Required for personalized mail pieces
Neighbourhood Mail (Unaddressed Admail)
Neighbourhood Mail delivers to every address on selected postal routes without needing a mailing list. This is ideal for local businesses targeting specific areas:
- No mailing list required - delivered to every household on chosen routes
- Lowest per-piece postage rates (approximately $0.18-0.25 per piece)
- Perfect for grand openings, local promotions, and area-wide awareness campaigns
- Choose routes by postal code, radius, or geographic area
Our All-In Pricing
We simplify everything by offering all-inclusive pricing. When you see a per-piece price in our calculator or campaign builder, it includes:
- Commercial printing on premium stock
- Campaign preparation and sorting
- Canada Post postage and delivery
No hidden fees, no surprise postage charges. The price you see is the price you pay.
Volume Discounts
Larger campaigns benefit from significant volume discounts. The more pieces you send, the lower your per-piece cost. Use our Cost Calculator tool to see real-time pricing at any quantity.
- 500-999 pieces: Standard pricing
- 1,000-4,999 pieces: 5-10% savings

The fastest way to get an accurate quote is to use our Cost Calculator tool or start building a campaign in the Campaign Builder. Both tools show real-time pricing based on your specific mail type, size, quantity, and targeting options.
